My life at Wonderland

Saturday was RBC day at Wonderland which means they open a day early for RBC employees and their families. My Mum hooked me up with 6 tickets so my friends and I could go. What a great day! Ryan, Sarah, Nathan, Robb, Jay and Myself all piled into Jay's step dads mini van for the trip. I couldnt have picked a better group to go with. Those boys are crazy!! We spent a lot of the day running from coaster to coaster and screamin our heads off.LOL. We also spent a lot of time laughing...mostly at Robb and then at Jay's knock knock jokes which I honsetly can say I never laughed harder at in my life. The weather was perfect and the lines werent too long. I made a slideshow which you can view, I will find more time later to actually paste the actual show on here but for now you can check out the link. Enjoy!

my life wondedring where the frick my friend is

It's been a rough week for me emotionally. My friend Mark is missing. He went to San francisco for a conference and was supposed to return home early afternoon last Wednesday. He never showed and no one has heard from him.
Here's what I do know:
He checked out of his hotel in the morning
He never boarded his flight/never landed- a mutual friend Jason was supposed to pick him up and after realizing Mark wasnt on the flight, spent 4 hours trying to find out all he could from the airport.
He never switched flights/never changed his tickets/never reembersed his ticket/ it was basically an unclaimed ticket.
Before he left he was laid off and therefore doesnt have tons of cash to just buy a new ticket.
At the conference they team you up with a group that you spend the whole week with/do everything with/become very close. so a friend here called the conference people, found out who his group members were and contacted everyone. As far as they all knew, he was in a good frame of mind and was intending to return home on Wednesday.
I went to Guatemala with Mark and we became very close, he is a charactered guy, never irresponsible, always eager to help others. Mark would never take off to play or whatever without telling someone. He would never leave his friends and family at home worrying where he was on purpose.
Mark is a Kindergarten teacher at church and loves it! he loves those kids, and he was scheduled last Sunday. Another thing he would never skip. He's very dedicated.
He planned to run a small group this semester, one he has been talking about doing forever. Seriously, I cant count how many times he's talked to me about it.
Anyway, he sent me a few really great emails before he left which were amazing. so sweet!! So anyway, its a helpless feeling, what can one do? Everyone is freaking out!! Last I heard, his parents were filing a missing persons report. I ask everyone to pray for him. Sorry, I got a phone call in the middle of this and lost my train of thought. I'll keep you posted.

My life being a Deetee

Spring is sprung!!! Stupidest phrase ever!! Haha....so yeah its getting all warm and stuff and today I am wearing flip flops!!! Yay flip flops!! April has been crazy with easter, events and trying to find time with friends and family. It actually has been going better than I thought it would. It seems like everyone has been so busy lately, finishing school, working on big projects, working nights blah blah blah, so its good to know I'm not the only one!!

I decided yesterday that my neice Shana is pretty much the greatest little person alive. Heath was volunteering at the church so I decided to drop in to the childcare and see Shan. She is so great because she gets so excited when she sees me and yells "Deetee" which means Auntie.LOL. She then wants up and I have to carry her around while she hugs me and chatters away in "shanspeak". She was trying to stick a sticker on my eye and kept sayin "hahaha oh deetee, eye!" lol...so cute!!! It's hard to believe that in like 15 days I will have a new nephew and then in September Heath will have another one!! It's great being an aunt!! Illian and I were talking about how you just love your neices and nephews so much that its crazy but you dont have to do all the disciplining stuff that their parents do, then the kids just thing you are the bomb!! LOL. He was saying that he used to tell his Uncle that he wished he was his dad. Anyway, Shan is great, funniest smartest kid.LOL

So........Anyone watch American Idol this week>? I wasnt going to watch it because I hate country week and I was pretty sure no one would do good at country, but Illian came over and he wanted to watch it so I did. Man....yeah Melinda was great, shes not my favourite, I pretty much love Blake (yikes, there's a phrase I never thought I'd say ;) lol ) So last night when Blake was in the bottonm 3 I was a little concerned and upset because of the whole votefortheworst.com thing. but then....a miracle happened!!! I couldnt believe it!!! Sanjaya was actually, finally voted off!!!Oh man...I cheered!! The little freak actually looked surprised, and Simon looked ecstatic!!LOL...so I slept awesome after that, and now I can once again enjoy American Idol and not worry about Sanjaya!!! Oh happy day!

My life seeing better and having as much fun as possible

So people are starting to complain that my blogs have been few and far between, I try my best, I really do! I have a freind who keeps bugging me to write about the status of my eye, I havent actually told anyone online any progressions. Basically I went to my Specialist last week and he looked at my eye and did some tests and he said that its not normal that I am seeing so good. So thats a great report! I have gone from appointments everyday, to once a week, and now I dont have another one for a month. Yay!!! So thats the dealio with that, I am still doing steroid drips and the sight is a tad bit hazey but not enough to even notice most of the time.

It's busy times right now with work stuff and events, events and more events... I was able to make some time on Saturday to go to the Famous Elmira Maple Syrup festival. A group of 10 of us went. It was pretty cold but we made it as fun as possible. We were so hyper and just having way too much fun. I actually didnt have any maple syrup, which apparently is kinda the point. Jason and I did stop for some Maple sausages which were amazingly good. After that we all went to Harvestmoon for brunch. I dont know why we go there so much, we always forget about the snarky server who is like the nastiest person alive!! I'm just glad she wasnt around when Jason spilled my ice tea and water all over the table, some boys just need to settle down!!

On Saturday night Jason and I went with my parents to an appreciation dinner for Campus for Christ sponsors. It was great!!! The food was amazing and they have quite the heart for missions, it was inspiring. It was hosted by Margie and she had a table reserved for us, also at our table was Nathan, Ryan, Sarah and Alice, so it was great!

Anyway, not much else is new, I'm tired because the weekend was not used for relaxing. I'll post a pic if it works this time. This is of Jason, me and Robb on the hayride at the Maple Syrup festival and the other is of me and Jay at the dinner.

My life avoiding blogging

So its not like I dont like to blog, its just I don't know what to say. I was all ready to write a blog about the Twenty20 getaway but then Heath did that and I didnt want to copy. It's not like she didnt have anything else to write about. W.evs!!! Its been busy lately with work and life. Work is jumping into the busy season and life is just so amazing that I tend to enjoy it too much!! So lets see, I came through my eye issue for the most part, its still a little hazey but Im not worried, it takes time as my Dr. says. I still am doing regular steroid drops and seeing my specialist weekly but I can assure you I look fine now. I'll post pics to prove it!! I am thankful for everyones prayers and want you all to know that I wasnt worried at all! I know there are some people who read what I said about believing all would be ok and thought I was being hokey and thusly decided to judge me by saying I was a phoney. That's ok, some things change when you are allowed to hear from God and believe Biblical principles on your own. That's all I'm saying on that subject. ....anyway, spring is here!! Yay!! It all showed up on Sunday and it was a perfectly beautiful day! Jay and I went driving around and looking at big houses after service on Sunday afternoon, for some reason it seemed like the perfect day for it. I can't wait for picnics in the park and watchin the boys act like kids outdoors. Camping! Wonderland! Beach! Summer Nights!!! ahhhhhhh....summer!!!! OK well I'll post some pics now just for the heck of it so you can see how normal my eye is...nevermind it wont let me, i'll try later .......COMMENT!!!!

My life being optically challenged- pictures NOT included!

An update for those who dont know about my eye:
Here's the deal, I went to my Family doctor today(monday)who took 1 look at my eye
and sent me to an eye specialist immediately. At the eye specialist he did
some vision tests and what not, including waving his hand in my face and
some other stuff, I could'nt see any of it. I have absolutely no vision in
my left eye aside from a white cloud. He sent me to the emergency room at
St.Mary's where he met me to do a corneal coulture. He said I have the
biggest corneal ulcer he has ever seen in his 15 years of practice. So
that's what it is, a corneal ulcer. He is doing tests and what not to find
out what caused it and how to fix it but is very concerned because of how
rapidly my eye sight decreased. I have another appointment tomorrow to see
him and hopefully he will know more then. He prescribed me 3 different
kinds of eye drops that were specially made for me which I must take every
hour on the hour at 5 minute intervals each(including through the night) so
I have a timer that goes off to let me know.I have a patch that I wear if I
must venture outside because brightness irritates my eyes and gives me bad
headaches (so there ya go guys, I get to be a pirate!). I have strict
orders that I can not go to work, look at computer screens, tv or read with
my left eye, I have to keep it rested and in dim lighting. I am also not
allowed to go to work for at least a week. That's a lot of time to spend at
home and not be able to do any of the above so any phone calls or visits
from you guys would be greatly appreciated as I know I will be extremely
bored and in need of someone to read my Bible to me, especially daytimes
because I will be alone, but nights would be good too. I plan on
"listening" to the Tim Storey dvd's on healing if anyone is down with
watching those. Seriously, call me, a week is a long time to go without
talking to my friends at least on msn. So that's basically it, in a nut
shell. I just wanted to let you guys know whats going down so you can agree
with me in prayer for the following things: 1. What little sleep I will be
getting will be refreshing and not drag me down 2. that fear and anxiety
doesn't creep in and try to steal the truth I know, which is God already
healed me 3. that there will be no permanent damage to my vision and that
the manifestation of my healing will be quick in Jesus' Name. Anyway,
that's all for now. Here is the internet version in medical terms of what exactly is
going down with my eye.
http://www.merck.com/mmhe/au/sec20/ch230/ch230c.html (copy and paste it
into your browser) Update: Wednesday
I had another appointment today, my sight is still none existant in that eye. He started me on a steroid drop that stings when I put it in.BUMMER!! So lotsa different kinds of meds. We are looking at the positive side of things and sticking to his orders. I will see again and very soon!! I have absolutely no fear! I know God healed me already! Pleasecontinue to pray and keep postive! Thanks.

My life as the salsa queen

Hello friends, I havent posted in forever on here, not since my bday or new years or whatevs. So life is good, great actually. Been busy having a life I guess. Well as some of you may or may not know I have been doing some salsa dancing a lot about once a week. There is a few places we go and its great fun and amazing to see how incredible some people are. Well we've been watching and learning and practicing and its just great fun. Nathan and I decided to start taking lessons to learn turns and what not and we are getting really good. I dunno either its really easy or we are really good learners. So we know some sweet salsa moves and merengae. I am totally getting into a newly discovered style of music (new to me) called reggaeton. Its kinda salsa, raggae, heavy beats...so fun to dance to!! Anyway, anyone who is interested who lives around here needs to come out with us, its so great! Thats all I have to write about today. Ive posted some pics of our salsa place(some of those people are phenominal) and then another one of Me, Nathan and Nani at salsa. Have a good one!
